Our Story

My name is Graeme Hall, and for most of my life, Holden has been more than just a car—it has been a passion.

Over the years I've owned almost exclusively Holden vehicles. Recently I sold a 350-powered Torana and V8 Kingswood to concentrate entirely on Commodores. 

​

Throughout the years I have collected hundreds of Commodores, from the early VB models right through to the later VF models. Some were restoration projects, others became parts cars, but every one had something valuable to contribute. Every vehicle represented another opportunity to save components that might otherwise have been lost forever.

 

I now accept the difficult reality. I simply don't have enough time to restore every Commodore in my collection. I have decided they should provide the necessary valuable parts to keep other Commodores alive.

What started as a name while searching for projects and parts has become a commitment to preserving Holden history. Every vehicle rescued is another piece of Australian and New Zealand motoring heritage saved from the scrapyard.

​

Using my VU Commodore ute and tandem trailer, I've travelled thousands of kilometres across the North Island collecting Commodores that others considered beyond saving. Every trip was another opportunity to rescue a piece of Holden history.

​

Not every Commodore can be saved, but every Commodore has something worth saving.

Some cars are restored, some give their lives so many others can survive. 

​

Behind the scenes is my partner, Vicky, whose support through years has been amazing . Early mornings, overnight trips, late nights in the shed, drained bank accounts and hearing "this is the last one" more times than she'd probably care to remember has made this challenge  a reality.

​

At Commodore Salvage, every nut, bolt, panel and component is treated with respect. Usable parts are carefully removed, cleaned, inspected, photographed, catalogued and honestly described before being offered for sale.

​

This isn't just about dismantling cars. It's about preserving this era of Holden history, helping other enthusiasts complete their projects, and making sure these cars continue to be seen, driven and appreciated for generations to come.

​

Because when the last Holden rolled off the production line, its story wasn't over... it became our responsibility to keep that story alive.
