1979 VB SL/E

This 1979 VB SL/E was purchased from Tauranga with no engine or transmission, but the rest of the car was still mostly complete and worth saving.

To get it running again, I used a rusty VB as a donor and transplanted its 308 V8 and Turbo 400 automatic transmission into the SL/E.

Once the mechanical side was sorted, the car received the panel work and general tidy-up it needed to get back on the road.

After the work was completed, it passed a WOF and has since been driven regularly.

What started as an incomplete VB SL/E has been turned back into a usable classic Commodore, using parts from another VB that was too far gone to save.
