1992 VP Clubsport (HSV 227)

This 1992 VP Clubsport, build number HSV227, had been sitting neglected for some time before I took it on as a project.

The good news was that the body was better than expected, with the only significant rust found around the rear window area. A bigger job lay in the electrical system, as much of the wiring and associated components had been removed.

One of the best surprises was finding that the important HSV details were still there. The car retained its HSV badges and modifications, including the distinctive four-spoke Momo steering wheel, which was a great starting point for bringing the car back.

The restoration is still a work in progress, with further electrical, rust and general restoration work required before the Clubsport is complete.

For now, the important part is that HSV227 has been saved and the key original features that make it a genuine Clubsport are still with the car.
