2002 VX CSV (Corsa Special Vehicles) – CSV046

This 2002 VX CSV came to me with no known New Zealand history. It had been imported damaged and, by the time I acquired it, had been left exposed to the elements for several years.

Bringing it back meant starting with the basics. I stripped out the interior, removed the glass and set about repairing the frontal accident damage. The carpet, hood lining and glass were replaced, while the remaining interior was thoroughly cleaned and valeted.

The panel damage meant the car required repair certification before it could return to the road. Once the repairs were completed and the necessary paperwork sorted, I was able to obtain Special Interest Vehicle registration.

Finding some of the correct parts was another part of the process. One of the final touches was locating and acquiring the factory alloy wheels.

The car still carries a Monaro bonnet and SS front clip today. One of the photos below shows the car in its original form, giving a good comparison with how it looks now.
